This year for International Women’s Day we are sitting down with some wāhine founders at Basestation to kōrero about their journey and learnings in setting up and running their own organisation. Meet Jackie Messam, founder and trainer at Rippled Ed.

Although it seems like a distant memory, the impact Covid had has forever changed the way we work. For those of us who traditionally worked an ‘office’ job, options to work remotely or hybrid have now become commonplace. 

To begin with, working from home seemed like an amazing opportunity with many positives!

Over the last few years Basestation has asked its residents to contribute non-perishable goods, toiletries and monetary donations to Under the Stars - a local charitable organisation that works alongside Tauranga’s homeless and in need.

 Last night the Basestation residents all got together for the annual Basestation Christmas Party in the Babbage Space. Hosting a Christmas Party with our residents has been a long held tradition at Basestation.

Sherilyn is our Accountant and ensures that everything is in order, so asked her a few questions to get to know the person behind the numbers.

Basestation Co-Founder Steven is a man of many talents. With so many things on the go at once, he can be hard to pin down.  But we managed to catch him on the run to have a quick chat.

Ruth is new to Tauranga, having moved from the big smoke of Auckland.  Originally from the U.K. Ruth has embraced Aotearoa New Zealand and is proud to call it her home. We're excited to have Ruth join the Basestation family and can't wait for her to make her mark.
