Where to park in Tauranga CBD

Basestation is located in the heart of Tauranga’s CBD. There are numerous car parking options available when visiting the CBD.
Payment for parking is required in Tauranga city centre on weekdays between 8am – 5pm.
Free parking is available in the parking buildings and on-street after 5pm on weekdays, all weekend, or on public holidays.
If you're parking on the street, even during free parking times, be sure to check the time limit on the nearby signs (like P15, P30, P60 or P120). Time limits apply seven days a week, from 8am to 6pm. These timed areas also have a daily limit, so parking can only be purchased in these areas once a day per vehicle.
Short-term parking:
If you are visiting for only a few hours, on-street parking might be your best option. If you are staying longer it’s best to use the parking buildings or the all day off street car parks. There are some time restricted areas which are clearly signposted and the hourly rates can be found on the parking machines or on the PayMyPark app.
On-street parking:
Parking is available on the street around the CBD subject to sign-posted time limits.
On Durham Street where Basesation is located, there is a loading zone directly in front of the building. Please be aware that this is a strictly enforced parking area.
On the surrounding city centre streets, it costs $2 per hour for the first 2 hours then $5 per hour for subsequent hours.
City centre fringe streets, it costs $1 per hour for the first 2 hours; $2 per additional hour; max charge of $10
Off-street car parks (short term):
Short-term off-street car parks are available with sign posted time limits. Payment is required 8am-5pm Monday to Friday.
Here's where you can park:
- Cliff Road - 166 all-day spaces, $2.00 per hour, max daily charge of $9.00
- Dive Crescent - 150 all-day spaces, $2.00 per hour - max daily charge of $15.00
- TV3, Wharf Street - 45 all-day spaces, $2.00 per hour, max daily charge of $15.00
- 160-176 Devonport Road - 103 all-day spaces, $2.00 per hour, max daily charge of $15.00
- Haumaru 483 Cameron Road – 170 spaces, $2.00 per hour, max daily charge of $5
Payment is required 8am - 5pm Monday to Friday. Hourly rates can be found at the parking machines and on the PayMyPark App.
Car Park Buildings (short term):
There are two parking buildings in Tauranga city centre which are open 24/7, the closest car parking building to Basestation is Elizabeth Street:
- Elizabeth Street parking building - enter from Elizabeth Street or First Ave. $2.00 per hour, max daily charge of $16.
- Spring Street parking building - enter from Durham Street. $2.00 per hour for the first 7 hours, max daily charge of $18.50.
Free from 5pm to 6am on weekdays, on the weekend and on public holidays. Please check all signage and rates before leaving your vehicle.
