Step 1: Find a blog to write for

Ask 100 people who run a blog what their schedule looks like and you’ll receive 99 responses all saying the same thing:


When you combine the constant need to produce new content, with the day-to-day management of a blog, it’s no wonder so many are run off their feet. But as the saying goes, ‘Many hands make light work’.

That’s where you come in!

The easiest way to find a blog to write for? Looking for those that have accepted guest posts in the past. The quickest way? Trusty ‘ol Google.

  1. Load up Google and enter some keywords related to your business into the search bar.
  2. Add some search strings to this, such as “guest post by” or “write for us” and hit ‘Search’.

  3. Bingo! Google will present you with a near-endless list of blogs in your industry that might well be in need of your expertise.

Tip: Website results higher up the Google search are likely to provide you a larger audience, than those further down the list.

Step 2: Choosing a blog

Not all blogs are created equal. When it comes to guest blogging it’s important to choose an active site.

The major signs to look for?

  • Regular content.
  • Active social networks.
  • A bustling comments sections.

Step 4: Write and submit your blog post

Now comes the fun part! Writing your post is your opportunity to bid goodbye to the politics and process of guest blogging and get into the meat of things:

As for the writing process itself? Keep in mind:

  • Many blogs have their own guidelines when it comes to the length and content of guest blog posts, so check with the blog first before you start writing.
