At Basestation we have two fully equipped modern kitchens - this means that if you’re a resident, working at a hot desk, or using one of our meeting rooms you can BYO food in. We have microwaves, a toaster, and panini maker - so there are a number of options when it comes to preparing food and drinks.

That being said - every now and again our residents like to venture out and sample some locally prepared kai (food) from the local cafes, restaurants and eateries.

Below are a handful of TOP PICKS from our residents on places to go to for lunch in the CBD! (in no particular order!)

Our favourite Pie & Sandwich shops

  • One Tree Bakery, 2/109 Devonport Road
  • 2nd Avenue Pies & Bakery, 84 Second Ave (next to PB Tech)

Our favourite Sushi places:

  • Yoku Japanese Cafe, 64 Devonport Road
  • Hello Sushi, 89 Devonport Road
  • Rikarika Sushi Express, shop 101/45 Grey Street - A little bit pricier than the other sushi places, but the quality is outstanding!

 Good vegan options:

  • Vitality Kitchen 114 Willow Street - Good range of cabinet food and food to order.
  • Pluto Juice Bar 48 Devonport Road - Good selection of ready-made salads (and soups in the Winter months) - plus great smoothies and fresh juices.
  • Falafel Metro 1 Devonport Road - Freshly made falafels and pita bread - soooo good!

Other favourites

  • Banana Blossom 45 Grey Street - Good cabinet food as well as food to order (personal favourite for the colder months - mac and cheese!)
  • Dam Da 75 Elizabeth Street - be warned - their portion sizes are HUGE (you WILL be taking a doggie bag home with you!)
  • Turkish to Go 109 Devonport Road - We like their fresh salads and kebabs (they also have good vegetarian options with Falafel and Halloumi).

These are just a few of the local businesses within walking distance of Basestation. If you have a favourite place that’s not listed above, please share it in the comments.

Get in touch if you’re interested in how you can cowork at Basestation.
